Each December we take about 45 children shopping at our local Target store. In August, we invited well deserving students from Barrington School District 220 to shop alongside Barrington police officers and firefighters for new school clothing and shoes at Kohl's. Every child is given $125 and a shopping cart so they can pick out clothing that they need and toys that they want. We also provide breakfast for each family that attends. Target also provides a girls and boys bike that we raffle off. The Shop with a Cop/Firefighter program is an amazing program that we have been doing for many years and it’s a great way for the children to get to know their local police officers and firefighters in a non-traditional role. The Barrington Police and Fire Benevolent Association partnered with Project Hope, a charity of St. Anne Catholic Church in Barrington.
